Apr 29 2024: China’s commerce ministry voiced strong criticism on Monday regarding Japan’s proposed export controls concerning semiconductors, warning that these measures could significantly disrupt regular trade activities between Chinese and Japanese businesses.
The ministry urged Japan to rectify what it labeled as “erroneous practices,” emphasizing that such actions could destabilize the global supply chain’s stability.
In response to Japan’s proposals, China stated its intent to take necessary measures to vigorously protect the legitimate rights and interests of Chinese enterprises.
According to reports from Nikkei, Japan’s proposal involves requiring companies to notify the government before exporting advanced materials and equipment that could potentially be utilized for military purposes.
