Sep 26 2024: Indonesia’s stock market closed lower on Thursday, with losses in the Financial, Infrastructure, and Agriculture sectors driving the IDX Composite Index down by 0.18%.
The top performers on the IDX Composite Index included Indonesian Paradise Property, which dropped by 2.90% or 30 points to close at 1,005.00. Meanwhile, Samindo Resources Tbk surged by 770.00% or 1,155 points, ending at 1,305.00, and Pelita Teknologi Global PT Tbk gained 728.13% or 1,165 points to finish at 1,325.00.
On the downside, Intikeramik Alamasri Industri fell sharply by 98.53% or 739 points to close at 11.00. Minna Padi Investama Tbk lost 97.97% or 387 points, ending at 8.00, while Bank Maybank Indonesia Tbk dropped 97.89% or 10,768 points to finish at 232.00.
Overall, declining stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Jakarta Stock Exchange, with 394 losers, 279 gainers, and 169 remaining unchanged.
In commodities, crude oil for November delivery fell 2.34% or $1.63 to $68.06 a barrel, while Brent oil for December delivery dropped 2.22% or $1.62 to $71.28 a barrel. The December Gold Futures contract rose by 0.28% or $7.55 to $2,692.25 per troy ounce.
In the currency market, USD/IDR decreased by 0.46% to 15,129.20, while AUD/IDR increased by 0.15% to 10,385.89. The U.S. Dollar Index Futures edged down 0.01% to 100.61.
