Oct 21 2024: Indonesian stocks experienced gains after Monday’s close, led by strong performances in the Financials, Agriculture, and Basic Industry sectors.
At the close in Jakarta, the IDX Composite Index edged up by 0.14%.
Among the top performers on the IDX Composite Index were Bumi Teknokultura Unggul Tbk (JK), surging by 33.33% or 1.00 points to close at 4.00. Bank Artha Graha Internasional (JK) saw a significant increase of 31.94% or 23.00 points, ending the day at 95.00, while Perdana Karya Perkasa Tbk (JK) gained 25.00% or 195.00 points to close at 975.00.
On the downside, Berkah Beton Sadaya Tbk PT (JK) fell 16.67% or 1.00 points, closing at 5.00. Capitalinc Investment Tbk (JK) also dropped by 16.67% or 1.00 points to finish at 5.00, and Diamond Citra Propertindo PT (JK) declined 12.50% or 1.00 points to 7.00.
Overall, more stocks declined than advanced on the Jakarta Stock Exchange, with 307 losers compared to 292 gainers, while 242 remained unchanged.
Notably, Bank Artha Graha Internasional (JK) reached a 52-week high, climbing 31.94% or 23.00 points to 95.00, while Capitalinc Investment Tbk (JK) hit an all-time low, falling 16.67% or 1.00 points to 5.00. Perdana Karya Perkasa Tbk (JK) also reached an all-time high, rising 25.00% or 195.00 points to 975.00.
In commodities, crude oil for December delivery rose by 1.25% or $0.86 to settle at $69.55 per barrel. Brent oil for December delivery also climbed 1.03% or $0.75, reaching $73.81 per barrel. Meanwhile, December Gold Futures gained 0.61% or $16.55, trading at $2,746.55 per troy ounce.
In currency markets, USD/IDR increased by 0.23% to 15,509.80, while AUD/IDR declined slightly by 0.04% to 10,375.56. The US Dollar Index Futures rose 0.16% to 103.48.
