Dec 10 2024: The Governor of the Bank of Korea, Rhee Chang-yong, stated that it is challenging for the dollar-won exchange rate to return to its previous levels, according to a Yonhap news agency report on Tuesday.
Speaking to lawmakers, Rhee noted that the exchange rate has not yet stabilized and that market sentiment remains cautious.
As of 0520 GMT, the won traded at 1,427.8 per dollar, an improvement from its previous close of 1,435.0 but still close to a two-year low of 1,442.0 reached last week amid political uncertainties.
